10 Probus Members travelled West to visit our National Football Stadium for what turned out to be a very successful and informative tour.
Our Guide Paul, (a Fifer), was a font of all knowledge relating to our National game.
Starting with both home and away dressing rooms which housed strips from iconic footballers who have played at this world renowned pitch, Paul presented this as a football quiz with which the group coped admirably.
The warm up area was more of a physical challenge as penalty kick speeds were recorded. Unsurprisngly we were not as successful with that round.
Then the highlight for most was the walk out through the tunnel to the “Hampden Roar” onto the immaculate pitch.
The Football Museum was full of great memories for all in the party, more so for Roddy MacLean who got an update on his family connection with Queens Park and Scotland from the Archives.
A great outing finished with coffee and cakes – as enjoyable as all the other elements of the visit.
